Recently a group of our students had the incredible opportunity to travel to Calgary and experience something truly special — the World Curling Championships.
For many, this was more than just a trip. It was a chance to step into a world-class environment, witness elite athletes in action, and see what dedication, teamwork, and focus look like at the highest level.

👀 Seeing Greatness Up Close
From the moment they entered the arena, students were surrounded by the energy of international competition. Watching teams from around the world compete gave them a new perspective on what is possible — not just in sport, but in life.
They saw:
- The precision and strategy behind every shot
- The communication and trust between teammates
- The discipline it takes to compete on the world stage
Moments like these stay with students. They inspire.

🤝 Connections That Matter
One of the highlights of the trip was the chance to connect with people involved in the sport, including meeting Olympic-level athletes and experiencing the culture of curling beyond just the game itself.
There were laughs, conversations, and memories made in between matches — whether it was interacting with mascots, exploring the venue, or simply taking it all in together as a group.

🧠 Learning Beyond the Classroom
This trip is a perfect example of learning that goes beyond desks and textbooks.
Students:
- Experienced real-world environments
- Built confidence navigating new spaces
- Strengthened relationships with peers
- Represented Cadotte Lake School with pride
These are the kinds of experiences that help shape identity, build independence, and create lasting impact.
