Fuel Your Body, Feed Your Future
Discover hands-on nutrition education in our brand-new, fully equipped teaching kitchen. From Food Safe basics to budget-friendly meal planning and tasty, wholesome recipes, we give individuals and families the tools they need to eat—and teach—healthy every day.

What Is Our Nutrition Education?

Our program blends nutrition science with practical kitchen skills. In small groups, participants learn to:

  • Master FoodSafe fundamentals and kitchen hygiene

  • Read labels and compare costs to stretch every dollar

  • Plan balanced meals using affordable, seasonal ingredients

  • Cook simple, nutritious dishes from scratch

Whether you’re a classroom educator, parent, or community leader, you’ll leave each session confident in your ability to shop smart, cook safely, and inspire others.

Vision

Our Core Principles

  • Balance & Variety
Emphasize colour, texture, and nutrients in every plate.

  • Local & Seasonal
Showcase regional produce to support farmers and freshness.

  • Mindful Eating
Turn off distractions, savour each bite, and tune into hunger cues.

  • Hydration Habits
Promote water first—learn fun ways to make hydration a habit.

Upgraded Kitchen!

This year we’re excited to roll out several upgrades in our teaching kitchen to make your experience even better. Look forward to expanded prep stations, upgraded cookware and appliances for faster, more efficient cooking, and enhanced storage solutions to keep ingredients fresh. We’re also adding new demonstration areas with improved lighting and audiovisual equipment so you can follow along with every tip and technique—and share your own discoveries with the group. These enhancements will help us continue delivering hands-on, interactive nutrition education that feels accessible, engaging, and fun for everyone.

Let’s Learn Together!

Education is more than just knowledge—it’s a journey we take together. At Woodland Cree Education Authority, we honor our past, embrace our present, and build a future where learning is guided by culture, community, and connection. Whether you’re a student, parent, educator, or community member, we invite you to grow with us. Together, we create opportunities, inspire minds, and strengthen our Nation.
