CLS Basketball Teams Shine in Edmonton Tournament

May 12, 2025

The basketball teams from Cadotte Lake School recently took to the court at Jasper Place High School in Edmonton, showcasing their skills and determination in a highly competitive tournament. Both the men’s and women’s teams represented their community with pride, playing with heart and showcasing the spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship.

The Road to Edmonton
The journey to Edmonton was filled with excitement and anticipation. For many of the players, it was a chance not only to compete but to grow as athletes and individuals. The trip to Jasper Place High School, one of Edmonton’s premier high schools, was a significant opportunity to play against top-level competition and experience the intensity of a large-scale tournament.

Game Time: A Showcase of Talent and Teamwork
As the games began, it was clear that the CLS teams were ready to compete. The players moved with precision and confidence, executing plays they had practiced for months. There were moments of intense defense, sharp shooting, and coordinated teamwork that highlighted the students’ dedication to the game. The crowd cheered as baskets were scored and defenses held strong against challenging opponents.

Learning and Growing Together
The tournament wasn’t just about competition—it was about learning and growing. Coaches provided guidance and motivation, encouraging the players to push their limits and support each other on and off the court. Players worked together, adjusting strategies and communicating effectively as the tournament progressed. The experience of playing in a high-pressure environment taught them resilience, adaptability, and the value of unity.

Support from the Community
The support from the community was felt throughout the tournament. Messages of encouragement from families and friends back home reminded the players of the pride their community had in them. The students played not only for themselves but for everyone back at Cadotte Lake who believed in their potential.

A Step Forward for CLS Basketball
This tournament marks an important step forward for the CLS basketball program. Competing at this level has set a new standard for the teams, inspiring both players and coaches to continue striving for excellence. With each game, they grow stronger, more united, and more determined to reach new heights in the sport.

Looking Ahead
As the teams return home, they do so with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment. The lessons learned in Edmonton will carry forward into their future games and training sessions. For the students of CLS, basketball is more than just a sport—it’s a way to build confidence, create lasting friendships, and connect with their community.

The journey to Jasper Place High School may be over, but the legacy of their performance lives on. Cadotte Lake School is proud of its basketball teams and excited to see where their passion and dedication will take them next.
