Sometimes the best learning happens when students step outside the classroom and into spaces designed to bring people together.
Recently, Cadotte Lake School students traveled to the Peace River Library and Discovery Centre for a field trip that turned into much more than a visit to check out books. What students discovered was a place filled with creativity, connection, exploration, and community.

A Different Kind of Library Experience
From comfortable reading spaces and graphic novels to hands-on activities and collaborative areas, students had the opportunity to experience how libraries continue to evolve.
Some students settled into books and reading corners. Others worked together through hands-on activities and creative spaces. Throughout the day, there was plenty of time to explore, learn, and simply enjoy being together.
For many students, it challenged the old idea of what a library is supposed to be.
Today, libraries are becoming places where communities gather, ideas grow, and people connect.

Learning Through Community
The Peace River Library and Discovery Centre has grown into far more than a building filled with shelves. It offers programs, community events, creative spaces, technology resources, and opportunities for people of all ages to learn and participate.
That community focus is something that connects closely with our own approach at Cadotte Lake School. Learning happens in classrooms, on the land, and in shared spaces where relationships and experiences help students grow.

We would also like to recognize our own amazing librarian, Ms. Jordan, for organizing and leading the trip. Opportunities like these take planning, care, and dedication, and we are grateful for the work she does to create meaningful experiences for students.
Why It Matters
Experiences like this remind us that learning can happen anywhere.
Sometimes it happens through books.
Sometimes through conversations.
And sometimes by discovering that a place you thought you understood can become something much bigger.
At Cadotte Lake School, those moments matter.
