Spring Festival at Cadotte Lake School: A Day to Celebrate the Season
The sun was shining bright over Woodland Cree First Nation, and the air was filled with laughter, the scent of campfire smoke, and the unmistakable feeling that spring had finally arrived. At Cadotte Lake School, that meant only one thing — it was time for the Spring Festival.
Creative Sparks Indoors
The morning began with students gathering in the gym for face painting and crafts. Tables were covered in bright markers, glitter, paint pots, and eager hands ready to create. Some kids chose to decorate paper masks, others painted their friends’ faces with spring colors and soft animal whiskers. For a moment, the gym became a whirlwind of color, creativity, and joy.
Races and Sunshine Outside
Outside, the field buzzed with excitement. Students lined up for races, cheered on by classmates and staff. The sun warmed the bare branches above and melted the last of the snow beneath their boots. It was a day where everyone could run, laugh, and breathe deeply the fresh spring air.
🌱 A Moment to Reflect
At Cadotte Lake School, days like this are more than just fun — they are reminders of the beauty in small things: a hand-painted face, a shared story, a marshmallow cooked just right.
As spring blossoms in the forest around us, we remember that joy is often found in gathering together, creating memories, and celebrating the warmth of community.
From all of us — happy spring! 🌸
