🎓 Honouring Growth, Resilience, and Community – Class of 2025

Jun 18, 2025

On a joyful evening filled with pride, family, and tradition, Cadotte Lake School celebrated a powerful moment: the graduation of one Grade 12 student and two adult learners who earned their high school diplomas.

The school gym was beautifully transformed — a walkway of balloons, proud families in the crowd, and a stage filled with possibility. But what truly made the evening unforgettable was the spirit in the room: a spirit of hope, courage, and unity.

As each graduate walked proudly down the aisle — some hand in hand with their children — they were met with applause not just for what they had accomplished, but for what it represented. These were not just individual successes. These were victories for families, for community, and for every young person watching who now knows: “I can do it too.”

🌟 A Community Standing Together

Chief Isaac Laboucan-Avirom honored the moment with powerful words and presented each graduate with an eagle feather — a sacred symbol of accomplishment, courage, and responsibility in Cree tradition. To receive an eagle feather is to be recognized not only for what you’ve done, but for who you’ve become in the process.

There were tears. There was laughter. And there was pride — the kind that lasts for generations.

💬 Why This Matters

Graduation is not just about the piece of paper. It’s about showing the next generation what’s possible. It’s about proving that growth is always within reach — whether you’re 18 or 48. This year’s adult grads reminded everyone in the room that it is never too late to start again.

These milestones are a direct reflection of the commitment we make to each other in Woodland Cree Nation — to support, to uplift, and to celebrate.

🙌 Our Gratitude

Thank you to the families, teachers, Elders, and leadership who supported these learners through their journey. Thank you to the children who walked beside their parents and inspired them to keep going. And thank you to our graduates — for reminding us what strength, perseverance, and hope truly look like.

Cadotte Lake School is proud to walk beside you — and we can’t wait to see where you go next.
