Our programs are designed to meet the diverse needs of learners—whether you are completing high school upgrading, pursuing post-secondary studies, or developing new skills for employment.

Inform and Educate
ALL EDUCATION PROGRAMS ARE AVAILABLE TO WCFN MEMBERS ONLY. Please note that applications do not guarantee sponsorship. All funding is limited and applications are considered in the order they are received.
Adult Education at Woodland Cree First Nation supports lifelong learning and empowers members to reach their personal and professional goals. Our programs are designed to meet the diverse needs of learners—whether you are completing high school upgrading, pursuing post-secondary studies, or developing new skills for employment.
Our vision for the future includes establishing a dedicated Learning Centre for Adult Basic Education students, offering access to teachers, internet, computers, and academic support in a shared space.
Adult Education at WCFN is more than coursework—it’s a pathway to opportunity, employment, and community growth.
Application Process:
● Request an application by emailing sponsorship@cadottelakeschool.ca
– adult education to print off the application package.
● Email completed applications to sponsorship@cadottelakeschool.ca
● WCFNEA requires at least 14 business days to process and review COMPLETED applications.
Incomplete applications will be sent back.
● Late applicants still require 2 week processing time and will be processed in the order completed
applications are received.
Sponsorship
WCFNEA will review the cost of safety training and may cover all or partial payments depending
on the Nation’s annual allocations.
Completion of Training
● All training must be completed within 30 days of approved sponsorship
● It is the responsibility of the applicant to register for approved training.
In the event the applicant misses or does not complete training within 30 days, future sponsorship requests may be
discontinued for 1 year. After this time applications may be considered but are dependent on the order completed
applications are received and funds available.
● Members are required to submit completed certification to the education coordinator at
sponsorship@cadottelakeschool.ca

Post-Secondary Sponsorship Policies
We currently offer these areas of support:
Adult Basic Education (ABE):
High school upgrading for members aged 21 and older, with courses delivered online through Parkland School. Tuition is covered for all WCFN members. Computers may be available for loan, and an application process is required. Application deadlines: Fall – August 15, Winter – October 1. Continuing students must reapply by June 1.
Post-Secondary Education (PSE):
Support for members pursuing diplomas, degrees, or advanced studies. Deadlines: Fall – June 1, Winter – October 1. Continuing students must submit marks and reapply by June 1.
Trades & Driver Training:
Limited alternate funding may be available to help members access trades training and driver education.
